PROGRAM DETAIL

INTAKE ORIENTATION (Phase One)____________________________________________________
A. All medical records, social history, psychological evaluations and legal involvement, as well as other information stated on the consent for release of information form, should be supplied by the primary treatment center prior to admission. A physical exam will also be given within 72 hours of admission.

B. Completion of intake paperwork and identification of goals and objectives for initial treatment.

  1. Schedule and attend individual Therapy sessions on a weekly basis and participate in Group Therapy sessions three times per week.
  2. Enrollment in a GED program or gainful employment.

C. Conclude any old business or personal matters which may interfere with treatment planning, and initiate family interest and participation in a program of recovery.

  1. Read the first five chapters in the AA Big Book and demonstrate memorization of the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.
  2. Satisfactorily complete written work on the first three steps of AA. Obtain an AA sponsor and establish an affiliation with a local 12 step group.
  3. In house presentation about "what treatment means to me", and completion of phase one goals.

D. Review Phase Two vote-in material with a Phase Two resident, and receive affirmative vote from majority of House group, as well as staff, to be admitted to Phase Two.

E. Practice independent living skills through household chores and enhance good health through physical fitness activities.

INDEPTH RECOVERY

Lifestyle Development (Phase Two)_______________________________________________________________________
A. Continue personal growth work, review and expand treatment plans, identify new and/or additional issues, and development of goals and objectives to resolve them.

  1. Adequately give and accept confrontation on unacceptable behavior.
  2. Initiation of effort to resolve any family relationship issues through family conferences.
  3. Maintain work attendance or school attendance, including attendance at study groups.
  4. Participation in assigned job areas of Power House.

B. Continue meetings at outside AA groups and with sponsor.

  1. Satisfactorily complete written work on AA steps 4,5,6,7,8 and 9.
  2. Read the first five chapters in "Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions and read chapters 5 and 6 in the AA Big Book.
  3. If therapeutic client can request home pass for 9th step.
  4. Conduct AA meetings in local community.
  5. Establish and develop appropriate social relationships.
  6. Increased participation in appropriate outside recreational and social functions.

C. Continue practicing independent living skills along with recovery program.

  1. Develop a budget and personal finance plan.
  2. Meet staff expectations and receive majority affirmative vote to be admitted into Phase Three and Big Brother Group (BBG).

Completion Of Program (Phase Three)_____________________________________________________________________

Community Re-entry and Graduation

A. Review of treatment plans and identification of problems which needs resolutions prior to discharge.

  1. Satisfactorily complete written work and AA steps 10, 11 and 12.
  2. Complete Chapters 6-12 in "Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions", and chapters 7-11 in AA Big Book.
  3. Continue weekly individual therapy sessions, and three weekly group therapy sessions.
  4. Increased attendance at AA meetings and less dependence on therapy groups.

B. Demonstration of role model behavior.

  1. Responsibly working the 12 steps, and active peer confrontation.
  2. Assistance to new clients with their written paper work, reading material, and bonding with house.
  3. Maintain regular employment/complete GED or correspondence.

C. Meet with vocational guidance counselor for possible college funding and establish a savings account for relocation after graduation from Power House.

D. Family Counseling* and acknowledgment of living arrangements.

  1. Initiate an aftercare plan, choose an AA home group, and obtain an AA/NA sponsor in the community you will be relocating to. Also, address community re-entry issues and expectations.
  2. GRADUATION FROM POWER HOUSE.
  3. Optional Alumni Program.
